Bike to Ekenäs, Värmlandsnäs

Take a ride out on Värmlandsnäs, a peninsula that boasts the most hours of sunshine in the country. Värmlandsnäs is around 40 km long and 20 km wide. It’s a place of hidden culture and natural treasures best experienced from the saddle. Cycle through beautiful landscapes and a living countryside down to the edge of the archipelago. There’s a summer restaurant in Ekenäs; a marina, campsite and a hiking trail with panoramic views across Lake Vänern. Check out the West Värmland Pilgrim Trail that goes from Ekenäs to Skillingsfors in Eda. The trail demands a sturdy bike or mountain bike. Pilgrimsleden Västra Värmland

Check out the West Värmland Pilgrim Trail that goes from Ekenäs to Skillingsfors in Eda. The trail is about 20 Swedish miles and it goes in forests and on public roads, there is no ready-made joints so reservation for challenging terrain! Route:

1. Cycle along Östra Storgatan away from the town centre.

2. Straight ahead at the roundabout, right at the traffic lights onto Näsvägen.

3. Cycle track and footpath on your left towards By Church. Then continue on public roads; follow signs for Ekenäs.

4. Alternative route back, east side; Dollarvägen towards Gaperhult 5, continue to Ölserud 10 and Säffle 10.

5. Continue to the intersection; follow sign Säffle 19.
