Stenmagasinet - one of the oldest buildings

This magazine is one of Säffles oldest buildings.
It was only a mill built in 1821 by Samuel Owens proposals with 4 millstones. It did not work so well because of the poor vertical drop. The building was then used as barracks and dining room for the workers who worked with Säffle Canal. From 1838 to 1970 the building was used as a warehouse. It is now used as a restaurant. The magazine is beautifully situated between Byälven and Säffle Canal.
